The soil partners' day

On 4 June 2025, the land and soil partners’ day will highlight the contributions of GSP partners in advancing progress in soil and land management. Discussions will include themes such as data and technology, impactful solutions on the ground and science and innovation. Partners are encouraged to present ongoing projects through an open call for contributions.

Reviewing key documents and assessing progress

FAO Members, GSP partners including stakeholders from academia, civil society, and UN organizations will come together to shape global actions on soils. Over three days, the Assembly will focus on reviewing and adopting key decisions to guide the future of the Global Soil Partnership. Delegates and partners will examine the financial status of the GSP, report on the implementation of the GSP Action Framework, and review the proposal of a Sub-Committee on Soils under the FAO Committee on Agriculture (COAG). Highlights will include the presentation of the second edition of the Status of the World’s Soil Resources Report, updates on the Global Soil Health Dashboard, and the appointment of the new members of the Intergovernmental Technical Panel of Soils (ITPS). Progress across the six action areas of the GSP, ranging from soil restoration to governance and knowledge sharing, will also be reviewed and discussed. The session will conclude with reports from regional soil partnerships.
