Reflecting on the ATDEPA Campaign in Tunisia
ATDEPA and CGPM join forces to raise awareness of social protection among small-scale fishers and promote responsible fishing among future generations The Tunisian Association for the Development of Artisanal Fishing (Association tunisienne pour le développement de la pêche artisanale, ATDEPA), with the support of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (CGPM), has just completed an 18-month social protection awareness campaign involving over 300 small-scale fishers in the Tunis and Ben Arous regions. The aim was to raise awareness among small-scale fishers of the importance of social protection, as well as to educate future generations about responsible and sustainable fishing.
